Burlingame Early Childhood Center with Alan Ford Architects and RDG

Land+Shelter is partnered with AFA and RDG on the final phase of the Burlingame Ranch, an affordable housing development in Aspen, Colorado. Our program includes an early childhood education center and affordable housing on the last remaining lots of the planned development. The project includes complex constraints of both a steep site and a packed program – all while striving for an impressively low energy use for a project of this type. As this project continues to make its way through design, we continue to seek new ground in lower energy use intensity and integrating a building with a hillside site.

Land+Shelter is the record architect, Alan Ford is subject expert at early childhood design, and RDG is a specialist in schools with a focus on interiors for this project.
